IRL.

In Toona Falls, nothing ever sticks.

IRL means In Real Life — and Toona Falls is anything but. Nobody can die, nothing hurts, and nothing ever sticks. Washed-out toon Carl is done living on reset, so he builds a machine to drag himself IRL: real mortality, real consequences, no do-overs. On the most dangerous day of the year, it works — on everybody.

Cartoon physics in Toona Falls: the neighbor on the left takes an anvil square on the head — spiral eyes, circling stars, still grinning and waving, completely unharmed — while Carl stands on the right looking tired and unimpressed

The neighbor, this morning: an anvil to the head — stars, spiral eyes, still waving. Carl, on the right, has seen it a thousand times. He’ll be fine by lunch.

Toon Physics — try it
ON — nobody can get hurt

Flip it off and the whole town goes mortal. That's the pilot.

The 60-Second Teaser

Five cards. One very bad day.

The teaser tells the whole premise in a minute — cartoon carnage the second the safety comes off, and a town that never learned to be careful having to start. Step through the beats:

0:00 – 0:10 The world, as normal

An anvil bounces off a head. A toon gets flattened and pops back up. Dynamite leaves soot, not scars. Morning on Main Street, Toona Falls.

“In Toona Falls, nothing ever sticks.”

Meet the Household

Carl doesn't live alone. That's the problem — and the point.

Carl has no wife and kids of his own. He lives with his sister and her kids — which means when his machine goes off, the first people in real danger are the ones at his own kitchen table.

The Uncle

Carl

A background toon in his 30s. Not a star — just a guy who resets every morning: same gags, same injuries that don't stick, same laugh track. He's not angry at anyone. He's tired of a life where nothing he does ever counts. When his machine goes off, he's the first person in town to realize what he's done.

His Sister · Mom of the House

Carl's Sister

Grounded, the heart of the house, and the first person Carl runs to save. She also has one thing nobody can explain: impossible luck — and it's the one thing that doesn't change when the world turns mortal.

His Niece · 16

Sabrina

A toon teenager who uses cartoon logic like a cheat code — always pushing limits, always landing on her feet. Until the day landing starts to hurt.

His Nephew · 10

TJ

Cautious, quiet, and the smartest one in the room. Carl realizes what the shockwave did first — TJ figures it out second, right after Carl, and he's the one who works out what it means.

And yes — the gloves.

Everybody in Toona Falls wears white rubber-hose gloves, and nobody knows why. Pull one off and the whole hand comes with it — and runs around on its own until Carl hits the button on his machine. It's a running gag. Until the day taking a glove off means something completely different.

Morning, neighbor.

Next door lives the cheeriest man in Toona Falls — round face, big grin, mustard blazer, tortoiseshell glasses. He waves at Carl every single morning. Carl has never once waved back first. Some mornings, that's the whole tragedy.

The Town

Welcome to Toona Falls

A small suburban town of Mom-and-Pop shops, quiet streets, and one main street — home of the annual Toona Palooza festival, the most dangerous day of the year. Population: immortal. And counting.

Map of Toona Falls showing Main Street, Town Square and the Toona Palooza grounds, Town Hall, Carl's house, the neighbor's house, Toona Falls School, and the river and falls on the east edge of town
  • Main Street — Diner, Bakery & Barbershop on the north side; Hardware, General Store & Cinema on the south. Anvils, dynamite, and chainsaws in stock.
  • Town Square — The Toona Palooza grounds, right next to Town Hall.
  • The Parade Route — Runs straight down Main Street on Palooza day. Front-row seats, zero safety barriers.
  • Carl's House — On Elm Street, marked with a star. The neighbor's house is right beside it. He waves daily.
  • Toona Falls School — Where TJ is the smartest kid in the building.
  • The River & the Falls — On the east edge of town. Beautiful. Deep. Previously: harmless.

The Pilot — “Toona Palooza”

He only meant it for himself.

Dark comedy with heart. R-rated for language, adult themes, and cartoon violence that suddenly has real weight — funny because it's absurd, tense because for the first time, it matters.

01

The Loop

Once a year, Toona Palooza turns the whole town into a stunt show — and every year, nobody gets hurt. Carl watches the town celebrate the one thing he can't stand: nothing matters.

02

The Machine

Carl builds a device to make himself mortal — just him, just once, so something in his life can finally count. He never aims it at anyone else.

03

The Shockwave

The device fires — and the wave takes the whole town with it. Traffic, chainsaws, dynamite, parade stunts: every usual bit is suddenly for real, and nobody knows how to be careful.

04

The Realization

Carl is the first to realize the world has turned mortal — TJ clocks it second, right behind him. Racing to save his sister, Sabrina, and TJ, Carl finds out the truth mid-disaster: he doesn't want to die. He wants his life to matter. Saving them becomes the first thing he's ever done that counts.

The Games — Game One · Beta Live Now

Same town. This time, you play it.

IRL is also a playable 3D video game — in beta now, with the full game coming soon. Carl's Reality Machine was built for one person: him. It never finished the job. It blew up halfway through, left the world stuck between cartoon and real, blasted its 3 core parts across Toona Falls into trap zones, and jammed its 3 parade switches where they stand. Your job: recover every part and rebuild the machine — before Toona Palooza turns deadly for real.

01

Flip the Physics

Carl salvaged one cracked shard from the wreck. It flips physics around him only — a small local bubble. It can't fix the town; for that he needs the whole machine back. In Cartoon, traps bounce off and you can scout safely — but the part cages stay locked. In Real, the cages open, and everything can kill you.

02

Bait the Trap, Grab the Part

Every core part sits reality-locked in a trap zone, under a dangling anvil or piano. Bait the drop, step clear of the red ring, grab the part while the trap winches back up, and get out. In Real physics, one hit kills — and a runaway pie costs a heart. You have 3 hearts.

03

You'll Need All Four

Switch characters mid-run: Carl — engineering, fixes panels and fires the machine. Sabrina — pranks, fireworks, and the biggest jumps. TJ — science, puzzle terminals, and scanning for what's left. Malaya — luck that works in both physics. Four Festival Seals around town each need a different one of them.

04

Throw Your Hand

The glove gag is a tool now. Throw your glove-hand and steer it on its own — across the room, around the trap — to grab, bonk, and hit switches Carl can't reach. Then call it back before something real steps on it.

Play with Carl — Carl Buddy Game

IRL Carlpet

IRL Carlpet poster: Carl squished completely flat like a plaid carpet on the cobblestones of Main Street in Toona Falls, face wide and pancake-flat with half-lidded eyes and white gloves splayed out to the sides, a big cartoon anvil hovering overhead, with the shops and Town Hall behind him

Around Town

It's not just Carl's street.

Everybody in Toona Falls runs the same old gags — the mailman, the road crew, the whole town. Each one has its own switch now. Flip it and the gag doesn't change. The landing does.

The Piano Drop

Cartoon physics on Main Street: a grand piano has fallen on the mailman, who lies squashed flat under it with spiral eyes, circling stars and a big grin, piano keys splayed around his head, completely unharmed The same piano drop with real physics: the mailman lies crushed flat under the grand piano, screaming in pain with sweat drops and stars around his head, white rubber-hose gloves on both hands and exactly two legs stretched out either side, in a pool of blood with his mailbag beside him and his broken glasses on the ground nearby

Main Street, noon: a grand piano lands square on the mailman. Spiral eyes, circling stars, keys for a grin — he's humming through it. He'll finish his route by one.

The Dynamite Bundle

Cartoon physics outside the hardware store: a road worker holds a bundle of dynamite that has just gone off in his hands — soot-black face, frizzed hair, circling stars and a big grin, completely unharmed

Outside the Hardware store: a whole bundle of dynamite goes off in the road-crew guy's hands. Soot face, frizzed hair, big grin. He asks if anybody got that on camera.

IRL is the first production from Kraken Entertainment — an independent studio being built from the ground up in New Mexico, with one rule from day one: stay loyal to the people who believed early. The pilot is in development now. There's no crowdfunding campaign yet — right now, support is simple: tips go straight toward getting the pilot made.

Every tip goes to the IRL pilot — animation, voices, and the unglamorous stuff in between. When a full crowdfunding campaign launches, it'll launch here first.

Talk to the Household

Ask them yourself.

Pick who you're talking to — Carl, Sabrina, or TJ — and type, or tap a topic. They answer in character: Carl's heard it all before, Sabrina's already three shortcuts ahead of you, and TJ has quietly worked out the answer.

Carl Background toon. Resets every morning. Ask him about the machine.

Replies are pre-written in character — tap a topic chip if you want the good stuff fast.
