📖 THE STORY: Last night, Carl finished the Reality Machine — the invention that would drag Toona Falls IRL: real weight, real consequences, no cartoon do-overs. He pulled the lever. The shockwave worked… then kept going. The machine blew itself apart, scattering its 3 core parts across town and jamming its 3 parade switches. Now the world is stuck halfway real — and with the machine in pieces, Carl can't change any of it back. Not until he finds every part and rebuilds it. It's Toona Palooza morning, and the clock is rude.
Run, jump and explore the whole town to undo his own explosion — then throw your glove-hand and steer it on its own to grab, bonk and switch what Carl can't reach.
⚠️ LOOK UP! Anvils & pianos dangle over the streets on ropes. In 🎪 Cartoon Physics they bounce right off. In 🧱 Real Physics one hit kills Carl — and a runaway pie costs 1 heart. You have 3 hearts: lose them all and the game restarts.
⚙️ THE PARTS ARE REALITY-LOCKED: every machine part sits in a striped ⚠ TRAP ZONE, caged, under an anvil or a piano. Scout the zone safely in 🎪 Cartoon — but the cage only opens in 🧱 Real Physics, where the traps can kill you. Bait the drop, step clear of the red ring, grab the part while the trap resets, and get out. That's the run.
🔄 SWITCH CHARACTERS — YOU'LL NEED ALL FOUR: Carl 🔧 engineering (fixes panels, fires the Reality Machine) · Sabrina 🎆 pranks & fireworks (distractions, chaos, biggest jumps) · TJ 🔬 science (solves puzzle terminals, scans for what's left) · Malaya 🍀 luck (near-misses turn good — her luck works in both physics). Four Festival Seals around town each need a different one of them. Tap SWITCH to change character, and tap ABILITY to use the current character's power.
📱 Phone & tablet — how to play: Use the left joystick to move. Drag on the screen to move the camera. Tap the on-screen buttons — INTERACT for doors, pickups, the machine and food — its label shows what it will do — TALK to talk to people only, JUMP to jump, HAND to throw & steer your hand, CAM to swing the camera, SWITCH to switch characters, and ABILITY to use an ability. Pinch to zoom the camera. Tap the mini map (top-left) to open the FULL TOWN MAP — the whole town big, with a legend for every mark on it. The separate black ☰ MENU button (top-right) is different: that's where your quest, progress, hearts, the Cartoon/Real physics switch and Settings live, so the main screen stays clear. Quicker: the REALITY button right under the mini map flips Cartoon/Real physics on the spot — it shows the mode you're in now and what a tap switches to.
💻 On computer: WASD to move · Mouse drag for camera · SPACE — Jump · E — Interact · T — Talk · F — Throw hand · R — Throw pie · TAB / 1–4 — Switch character · Q — Ability · Scroll — Zoom camera
BETA TEST — This game is a work in progress. You may run into bugs, glitches, or unfinished features, and things may change or reset as we keep building it. Settings are session-only and do not save yet. Thanks for playing and for letting us know what you find.
The whole town, the way it sits in the game: north is up, Main Street runs east–west through the middle, and the river & falls are on the east (right) edge. The town now reaches further west, north and south than it used to — West Avenue and the West Fields, the North Park path, and the South Fields are all on this map. Your live position is the big white dot — if you're inside a building, it's pinned to that building's door. Everything below the map is the legend for what you're looking at.
Tap the mini map (top-left) any time to look at the town again. The black ☰ MENU button (top-right) is separate — that's quest, progress, physics and Settings.
Tune the game to your hands and your ears — every change applies the instant you make it.
How far the view spins and tilts when you drag. Higher = the camera whips around faster; lower = slow and steady.
Master sits over everything — music and effects together. Mute silences the whole game in one tap.
Real tracks, swapped by where you are: the town struts to “Scheming Weasel (faster version)”, trap zones sneak to “Sneaky Snitch”, and the Palooza win swings “Monkeys Spinning Monkeys”. Prefer the town quieter? Switch the town tune to “Deuces” — same 1960s club, lower under the talking.
Boings, bonks, chimes and thuds — the cartoon noises Toona Falls makes.
Characters: Carl, Malaya, Sabrina, TJ and Mr. Almeida each load as their own Blender 3D model when the game starts — rounded forms, soft shading, soft even light and gentle shadows, muted clean surfaces, no heavy black outlines. If a model file ever fails to load, that character's detailed procedural build — same skeleton, same gloves, same animations — steps in automatically. No laptop needed on your side, you just playtest on your Galaxy.
Off by default — normal play is unchanged. When on, a small text panel describes the game state in words — character, position, inside/outside, nearest NPC / object / door / trap in range, hearts, Parts / Switches / Seals, physics mode, current dialogue & quest, last event, and any active toast or error — and keeps updating as you play. The same state is exposed as window.__IRL_TEST_STATE, and scripted test inputs live on window.__IRL_TEST: moveTo(name), talk(), interact(), togglePhysics(), throwHand(), enterDoor(id), exitDoor(), listLocations(), getState().

In Cartoon Physics, that's a boing and a funny face. In Real Physics, that's a funeral. That was the machine's whole point, Carl.
Restarting resets the quest, your parts, switches, stars — and your hearts.
The rebuilt machine hums — whole, for the first time since it blew. For one held breath, Carl's hand hovers over the lever: he can change it all back now. That's the win he chased across every trap zone in town.
Carl: “I built a machine to make my life matter. Turns out it already did. I just had to chase my own hand around town to notice.”
Sabrina: “Put that on a shirt.” TJ: “Statistically impossible. Also: put it on a shirt.”
